LEAF IT ALONE: Remember how, when you were a kid, it was so much fun in autumn to play in piles of leaves? You'd jump in, and the ones on the top would be dry, and then the ones underneath would be damp from dew, and kind of dirty, too, and not long into your frolicking you'd be wet and filthy and have bugs in your underwear.
