People: Woody Allen to Direct Odd Opera

SHOCK AND AWE: OK, these reactions might be overstating it a tad, but nevertheless two recent developments might make you pause for a tenth of a second. Are you ready? First off, Woody Allen is directing ... an opera. "I have no idea what I am doing," he says. Second, Britney Spears isn't going to release any new music until (gasp!) 2008. "I put her on hiatus," says the tart's publicist.
