Poll Center: Wrong Choice for Tysons Rail?
MOST EVERYONE wants better transit access to Northern Virginia's biggest commercial hub, but the cost to dig a Metrorail tunnel through Tysons Corner is too high for officials and appropriators to stomach. So to get trains running between the nation's capital and Dulles Airport, they'll likely build an elevated track. Yesterday, Fairfax County officials voted to fund the first phase of the Metrorail expansion that runs aboveground through Tysons Corner.
Others, however, say that elevated rail through Tysons will be an ugly addition, making it more difficult to redevelop the busy area into a place that's more pedestrian-friendly.
For today's Poll Center question, we ask: Is elevated rail the right choice for Tysons Corner? Go vote (and comment) here and see how your fellow commuters voted station by station, line by line.
