Setting the Stage: Cirque de Soleil Beauty Regimen
WASHINGTON NATIVE Jennifer Hamady can take up to an hour to get her day's face on. But she's no slowpoke: The Cirque de Soleil star just has to put on a cream foundation, eyeliner, eye shadow, cream blush, setting powder, false eyelashes, mascara, lipstick, lip gloss, more setting powder — the list goes on and on — before each and every performance with the touring act Delirium, appearing at the Verizon Center June 22 to 24.
One of the three singers in the show, Hamady wears bright, eye-catching MAC cosmetics onstage — "lots of reds and oranges, lots of glitter, dramatic lips" — but can't live without lip gloss, witch hazel, a good moisturizer or Bed Head's Camera Ready on a day-to-day basis.
While Hamady constantly buys new products that catch her eye — "like the Burt's Bees kit; I love that" — she's still a creature of habit, she said.
"At the end of the day, I'll just wash my face, brush my teeth and go to bed."
