Corduroy Reopens: His Own Man; His Own Food
CLARIFICATION: Corduroy has not yet reopened. The greeting on the restaurant's voice mail system says it will reopen "in early April."
TO HEAR THAT ONE has become a disciple — even of a great chef — can be frustrating praise.
Tom Power emerged from his apprenticeship at Citronelle with the "disciple of Michel Richard" label. But Power has stepped out from Richard's redoubtable shadow much the way his restaurant, Corduroy, has emerged from the shadow of its former Four Points home.
The new digs (in Shaw, no less) put the refined flavors and daisy-fresh ingredients that have distinguished Power among his peers front and center. Now that it isn't housed in a hotel, a visit to Corduroy means go for the food and stay for the food.

Corduroy is nowhere near opening... Apparently they're looking at April/May at the earliest.
