Cheap Tricks: City Riots

20080715-cityriot.jpg
HOW DOES A small indie-pop operation out of Adelaide, Australia, make a professional-sounding record on an extra-low budget? Those are City Riots' cheap tricks. Lead singer Ricky Kradolfer did a lot of instrument-hopping, but still, with only a tiny studio and a summer, the band's self-titled EP is quite well-produced.

Prepare to be impressed by listening to a few tracks on their MySpace page, and then head down to the Black Cat to see these up-and-comers from down under do their thing on the backstage with the Dig and the City Veins.
