Punk Revival: The Effigies

Photo courtesy of the Effigies THE EFFIGIES ARE associated with the '80s, but not the "Heat of the Moment"/"Your Love" '80s. I'm talking about the Chicago punk scene.

The band's guitar-heavy, hardcore sound was influential in a city that took a while to catch on to the Sex Pistols vibe; but when it did, the Effigies led the way.

After many years of classic breaking up and getting back together, and breaking up and getting back together, the band is spreading punky love around the nation on its "Law 'N' Order" tour. Catch them at the Black Cat with EDP and Cloak/Dagger.
