To Dulles, to Dulles: 'Dark Knight' in IMAX
OF ALL THE TOP STOPS in all the world, I cannot stress how very worth it this one is. Whether you have seen "The Dark Knight" already or had something better to do (funerals and spaceflight are the only viable excuses), seeing it in IMAX is oh so worth the drive.
Drive, you say? Well, there's the catch.
The Smithsonian has a big, secret, second Air and Space Museum out by Dulles Airport called the Udvar-Hazy Center. And that's where our dear Batman is hiding.
But, like I said, totally worth it. You're pumped on the drive out, then you're disappointed when you get there because there are no snacks allowed in this new-car smelling, pristine theater. But as soon as the movie starts, all you can think is "WOW" for the next two-plus hours.
Aside from the brilliant performances, "Dark Knight" was actually filmed for IMAX. You'll see what I mean when your stomach drops as you soar over Gotham.
