That's the Way It Crumbles, Cookie-Wise: 'The Apartment'

BILLY WILDER directed many of the greatest movies of Hollywood's golden age. And the best part is, they were all so different!

War dramas, the original aging star/young-man-on-the-make story and the best cross-dressing comedy of all time. But my personal favorite is his sweet romantic comedy "The Apartment," about the love between a suicidal elevator operator and a number-munching nebbish.

Don't judge it until you see it. Also, don't pretend you don't watch "My Best Friend's Wedding" every time it's on TBS — you have no moral high ground here. At least this movie has Jack Lemmon in it.
