Thrifty Girl: Laura Cantrell
LAURA CANTRELL WAS in the business of radio long before she was an acclaimed country singer. She once hosted a show on WFMU Nashville called Radio Thrift Shop. I'm guessing she played a lot of tunes reminiscent of weird t-shirts from the '70s.
Now, Cantrell sings songs that, like many of said t-shirts, delve into the complex but are structurally simple.
