Empowering Kids: 'Ah! THAT Jack and Jill!'

Photo courtesy of the Alexandria Black History Museum IN READING THE title of this show, you might have figured out that it's not a tribute to those silly children immortalized in nursery rhyme. Instead, it's a tribute to Jack and Jill of America Inc., an organization founded in 1938 that's dedicated to enriching the lives of African-American children. Using photos, chapter records and memories of the organization's members, the exhibit demonstrates how Jack and Jill has empowered children and families for decades.

» The Alexandria Black History Museum, 902 Wythe St., Alexandria; opens Sat., through Nov. 15, free; 703-838-4554.
