Tracy Jordan's Top 5 Most Outrageous Schemes on '30 Rock'

POSSIBLY THE ONLY notable thing about the 2008 Emmy broadcast was the utter dominance of "30 Rock." The show won best comedy series, Tina Fey won for both her writing and lead actress performance and Alec Baldwin scored as well.

One person who went unacknowledged was Tracy Morgan, despite the fact that his television alter ego, the infantile star Tracy Jordan, has racked up such notable achievements as Source Awards nominee, NAACP Image Awards presenter and Academy Awards watcher.

In the hopes of inspiring next year's Emmy voters to "live every week like it's Shark Week," let's revisit Tracy Jordan's Top 5 most outrageous schemes from season two, out Oct. 7 on DVD.

» "Seinfeldvision"
Mission: When a transvestite prostitute Tracy was ministering to is identified in a paparazzi photo as his wife, he must attempt to function without her.
Accomplices: Kenneth (Jack McBrayer) is enlisted to serve as Tracy's "office wife."
Memorable Quote: Tracy: "Who's going to do my banking? Who's going to write my blogs? Who's going to do the cooking on Taco Wednesdays?"

» "Jack Gets in the Game"
Mission: When things don't work out with Kenneth, Tracy wants to reconcile with his wife Angie (guest star Sherri Shepherd).
Accomplices: Tracy inexplicably concludes that sending Kenneth to seduce Angie will somehow compensate for his many infidelities. Kenneth attempts to comply, but ends up vomiting on her floor.
Memorable Quote: Kenneth: "I like your top. I'm a real good sex person. I do it all the different ways."

» "Rosemary's Baby"
Mission: After Jack instructs Tracy that the only behavior he cannot engage in is dog fighting, he naturally resolves to take up dog fighting.
Accomplices: Not even Tracy's entourage is willing to support him in this particular venture. He ultimately overcomes the impulse and his authority issues thanks to Jack's nontraditional therapy techniques.
Memorable Quote: Dot Com: "It's Phil Spector's entourage all over again."

» "Subway Hero"
Mission: Tracy agrees to become a Republican ambassador to the African-American community. The McCain fundraiser he's promoting, meanwhile, has the stated mission of reinvading Vietnam.
Accomplices: Jack Donaghy and the ghosts of Richard Nixon and Sammy Davis Jr. act more as instigators than accomplices.
Memorable Quote: Tracy: "My fellow Blackmericans — hey, Jack, can I just say Black Americans? There's no such thing as Blackmericans." Jack: "That's great. That's why you're here."

» "Succession/Cooter"
Mission: Tracy wants to accomplish something significant to make his son proud of him, and concludes that inventing a pornographic video game is the obvious solution.
Accomplices: Kenneth and the initially skeptical Frank (Judah Friedlander) assist with production, while Jenna (Jane Krakowski) and Grizz (Grizz Chapman) contribute voice over work.
Memorable Quote: Tracy: "These avatars need to be able to do anything to each other." Jenna: "Touch my cheek. Touch my butt. Touch my knees-butt. Touch my feet with your knees."

  • Meg,

I thought his last name was MORGAN, not Jordan...

  • The actor's last name is Morgan. Tracy Morgan's character on 30 Rock is Tracy Jordan. Did that help?

  • Fantastic! When will you do one on Jack's best lines?
