Our Mutual Friend: A Dickens of a Tour
D.C. VALUES ITS history, and especially around the holiday season you might see some people wandering around in costumes (the bonnet is a dead giveaway) and pretending to be from the 19th century.
If you're in a Christmas mood and it's too early for mulled wine and a game of snapdragons, try the Charles Dickens-themed tour of downtown, which tell the story of Dickens' trips to Washington and the places he visited. It will focus on "A Christmas Carol" (of course), and you can expect to see some historic tableaux taken from the novel.
» Cosi, 10th and E Street NW; Sat., Dec. 13, Dec. 20 and Dec. 27, noon, $5-$10; 301-588-9255. (Metro Center)
