Save the Cheerleader, Get Buzzed: 'Heroes' Happy Hours

YOU KNOW THE SAYING: "Save the cheerleader, get buzzed." OK, so that's not quite as catchy as the tagline of NBC's "Heroes" ("Save the cheerleader, save the world" for those of you who somehow missed it), but you've got to admit it's profoundly more appealing.
So, in honor of the show's midseason finale on Dec. 15, get in the mindset of your favorite flame-throwing or flying character and take a night out on the town. If anything the show's disjointed plot lines as of late might make more sense after a brew or two.
Hiro Nakamura's shouty enthusiasm and comic fanboy zeal can be a bit much sometimes, no? In order to get this persona-style to chill, we suggest suggest sipping a pint at Galaxy Hut's cozy atmosphere. It's $1 off drafts and $3 off pitchers until 8 p.m. Bonus: Comics litter the walls and there's a working Pac Man table.
For those who consider themselves a politico in the know like flyboy Senator Nathan Petrelli, head to Bullfeathers ($2.50 Bud Light bottles, $3.25 Miller Lite drafts). As for his willful and strongly opinionated baby brother Peter, Busboys & Poets would make a suitable stop-in — especially from 4-7 p.m., when draft beers are half price. Handling a test tube or two on a daily basis, like Dr. Mohinder Suresh? Then continue experimenting with $4 Guinness drafts and liquor concoctions (5 p.m.-2 a.m.) at Science Club.
Let's not forget Claire Bennet, the do-gooder cheerleader who'd find herself at home with the throngs at McFadden's ($2 Miller Lite bottles, $10 Miller Lite pitchers and $5 wing baskets, 4-7 p.m.). Not that we'd be suggesting she go to a bar in the first place — she's still in high school! Perhaps we'll send ultimate badboy Sylar in her stead as a means of, uh, clearing out the fratty atmosphere. Honestly, though, he'd probably be more comfortable at Palace of Wonders since he's so into being unique. Too bad their $3 rail drink and domestic beer special (6-8 p.m.) is available to anyone 21 and up.
