Close Enough for Photography: 'Women of Our Time'

Photo courtesy the National Portrait GalleryTHIS WEEK: The 20th century is receding further into the past, but, thanks to the National Portrait Gallery's new exhibit, "Women of Our Time: Twentieth Century Photographs," some of recent history's biggest achievers are still fresh in our minds.

The women in these photographs — Amelia Earhart (right), Billie Holiday, Helen Keller and Gloria Steinem, to name a few — changed the world in a way women just weren't able to before the 20th century. And we should be reminding our daughters of everything they can aspire to be and do.

Just be warned: this exhibit might inspire your daughter to become a portrait photographer.
