People: Travolta Speaks On Son's Death

TRAVOLTA MOURNS
John Travolta's 16-year-old son was "spectacularly supervised" before he was found collapsed at the family's vacation home on Grand Bahama Friday, an attorney for the actor said Sunday. Travolta himself, in his first public statement since Jett's death, thanked people for their support and said he and his wife were "heartbroken that our time with him was so brief."

'I FASTER, DRUNKER, MORE FURIOUS WITH AGE
Police in Illinois say actor and playwright Sam Shepard has been arrested on preliminary charges of speeding and drunken driving. Officers stopped Shepard early Saturday in central Illinois. Kotte says the 65-year-old Shepard was driving 16 mph over the 30 mph speed limit. A breath test indicated Shepard's blood-alcohol level was double the legal limit. Shepard told police he had been at a tavern in nearby Bloomington and was heading to a hotel.

A ROCK 'N' ROLL SWAN SONG
The final note of Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign may very well be sung by Jon Bon Jovi. The musician is performing at a fundraiser for the former presidential candidate as she tries to close out her campaign debt, which stood at $6.3 million as of last month. The Jan. 15 performance at Manhattan's Town Hall is being billed as "a final evening in support of Hillary Clinton for President Debt Relief."

Heather Locklear has evaded DUI charges by pleading to a lesser offense. In court Friday, the actress was given three years of probation. Locklear was charged with driving under the influence of prescription drugs.

Filmmaker George Butler wants his friends to know he's very much alive, despite a premature obituary on "The Charlie Rose Show" this week. Rose confused Butler the director, who made the 1977 film "Pumping Iron," with Butler the jazz record executive.
