Secret Source: Never Too Late to Look Marvelous
GLAM GOWN. Check. Tickets to a ball? You betcha. A nicely tied bow tie? Uh-oh. We wouldn't blame stylistas of either sex for forgetting a few key details in the excitement — or, let's be honest, round-the-clock bar hours — of inaugural week.
But, luckily for you, late ones, a few local stores have stepped up sartorial services for the big day. On Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Nordstrom will offer a "drive-by bow tie" service at its Pentagon City (1400 S. Hayes St., Arlington; 703-415-1121) and Tysons Corner (8075 Tysons Corner Center, McLean; 703-761-1121) locations. Simply pull up and have your neck attended to by a waiting expert. (For women, there's curbside panty hose selection and beauty touch-ups.)
Downtown, Neiman Marcus has a pop-up shop in the Hay Adams Hotel (1 Lafayette Square; 202-761-1121), with last-sec needs such as jewelry, gloves, shawls and even formal wear. And Brooks Brothers fills a space at the Capitol Hilton (1001 16th St. NW; 202-393-1000) with items such as cuff links and bow ties.
