Jon and Kate Gosselin have an announcement, according to a cryptic new ad for Monday's one-hour episode of "Jon & Kate Plus Eight." In it, Kate Gosselin says, "We've made some life-changing decisions — decisions that will affect every member of our family, ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace." The Gosselins have acknowledged marital turmoil in past episodes.

Miley Cyrus took a break from shooting "The Last Song" on the Georgia coast by borrowing a guitar and treating fans to an impromptu two-song performance on the patio of a beachside restaurant. "By the time she finished the first song, there must have been 50 little girls and their moms," said the restaurant's owner.

Jane Fonda underwent surgery to replace her left knee Thursday. In a wistful blog post titled "So Long Old Knee," Fonda wrote that her knee joint was to "be sawed out and in its place will go a titanium rod and ceramic joint." Fonda said it had been "a strong, faithful knee." She said it helped her "up a lot of steep mountains and across rugged terrain." And she recalled that former husband Roger Vadim liked to kiss her knees. Fonda took to Twitter, too, writing: "Drugs starting to hit. Wheeee. So long left knee. You’re toast!

CRITICS SAY JOLIE NEEDS TO FOCUS ON DOMESTIC ISSUES
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have donated $1 million to the U.N. refugee agency providing aid to hundreds of thousands uprooted by violence in Pakistan. The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees says it is grateful for the donation from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. It said Thursday the money will go to alleviating suffering caused by the "most challenging humanitarian crisis of the past decade."

MUSES WEAR OUT SO MUCH FASTER THESE DAYS
Billy Joel and his wife, Katie Lee, are confirming a split. In a statement, the pair said that they remain "caring friends with admiration and respect for each other." They were married five years ago at Joel's mansion on New York's Long Island. This was his third marriage and her first. Katie Lee Joel hosted the first season of Bravo TV's "Top Chef."
