Singing Head: David Byrne

20090606_byrne250.jpg SATURDAY: David Byrne is something of a hipster god — just think of him as Ira Glass' cool older brother — but, more to the point, he's a rocker who has always been startlingly thoughtful. Sure, like most rock stars, he's strange. But it's a gentle, quirky strangeness rather than full-on Bret Michaels-style terrifying.

Although he's most famous as the frontman for the Talking Heads, Byrne's current tour focuses on a record he made with Brian Eno, "Everything That Happens Will Happen Today." DeVotchKa opens for him at Wolf Trap on Saturday.

» Wolf Trap, 1551 Trap Road, Vienna; Sat., June 6, 8 p.m., $25-$45; 703-255-1900.
