A New Way of Living

For 12 weeks, 6 Express readers are competing for $5,000 and a one-year membership to Gold’s Gym. They earn points for weight lost and challenges won. The challenger with the most points at the end of 12 weeks wins!
This week we’re checking in on three of our contestants, who have all been working out with the help of Gold’s Gym Personal Trainers. They have a couple more weeks to continue hitting the gym and preparing for the final challenge. Then we’ll reveal all the points earned and our winner! It seems everyone feels like they’ve won something already
Celebrating Progress
Anthony is working out at Gold’s Gym in Fairfax Station. His personal trainer, Cameron, has helped him try lots of different exercise techniques. At this point, Anthony is in desperate need of a trip to the tailor. He tells us he feels like he’s wearing his father’s suits to work. No surprise; he’s lost almost 30 pounds. Way to go, Anthony!
Anthony says: ”I have started a process to change my life for the better. That, in itself, is an accomplishment worth celebrating.„
Finding Your Self-Esteem

Kim has been working out at the Capital Hill Gold’s Gym with her trainer, Tasha. The results are really starting to sink in. Kim is able to shop in stores that she hasn’t seen for some time. Her exercise regime has shown her what she can accomplish when she puts her mind to it, greatly boosting her self-esteem.
Kim says: ”There is a body that I haven’t seen in some time that I am beginning to recognize. The skinny me is coming back!„
Get the Results You Desire
Meaghan is thrilled with the results she’s gotten thanks to her workouts at Gold’s Gym in Ballston. Her trainer, Jenny, is very proud of Meaghan’s attitude, motivation and results, too. Meaghan told us, ”Working out with Jenny has definitely helped me achieve the results I have wanted!„
Meaghan says: ”This is one of the hardest yet most rewarding experiences of my life. I am absolutely floored by how much I have changed for the better in these few short weeks!„
Points are awarded weekly for weight loss and competitive challenges. In the event of no weight loss, or a less than 1% weight gain, contestants receive 0 points. Over 1% weight gain, contestants lose points proportional to their percentage of weight gain.

Congratulations to all the contestants! I can't tell who I am cheering for more, it keeps changing every week. I loved the story today. It truly inspired me to read just how much one can change in only one short summer. I only wish I would have started this journey with you in the beginning, but you've definitely got me thinking that it's never to late to start. Congratulations everyone. I'll be excited to see who wins!
