Personal Trainers Make the Difference
For 12 weeks, 6 Express readers are competing for $5,000 and a one-year membership to Gold’s Gym. Challengers are racking up points for losing unwanted weight and winning fitness challenges. To help them lose the weight and prepare for these challenges, each contestant is given one hour each week to workout with their personal trainer. The challenger with the most points at the end of 12 weeks wins!
In only one hour a week, Gold’s Gym personal trainers can teach you about nutrition, strength training and cardiovascular training, and show you how to combine those to reach your ultimate goal. More than that, the education they provide can last a lifetime.
Structure & Results
Anthony has been working out with his personal trainer, Cameron, at the Fairfax Station Gold’s Gym. These two became fast friends. They were both football players in school, and Anthony said, ”I think I'll be a better athlete after the challenge because of the knowledge Cameron has shared with me.„ When Anthony shows up to work out, he knows that Cameron will be there, ready with structured, personalized workouts to attack his fitness goals. Working with Cameron has helped Anthony to lose almost 25 pounds already.
Anthony says: ”Working with Cameron has helped me learn more about what exercises and techniques really work with my body and truly produce results.„
Cameron says: ”As his personal trainer, I’m here to help Anthony focus and stay motivated, to take the stress out of the process.„
A Motivating Fan
Jamie, who has been working out at the Merrifield Gold’s Gym, says nothing has been more motivating for her during this competition than her personal trainer, Erin. Jamie has had to deal with some serious knee problems that have bothered her for years. So Erin helped her find a cardio machine that is easier on her knees. Jamie told us, ”The rowing machine allows me to burn just as many calories, gets my heart rate pumping, and it works all my muscles!„ Despite her issues with her knee, Jamie has continued to make progress towards her goal every week! She has lost over 13 pounds so far!
Jamie says: ”Any time I start to get discouraged, Erin finds a way to pull me through.„
Erin says: ”As Jamie’s trainer, I am her biggest fan. I keep her motivated and we have fun in every session!„
Points are awarded weekly for weight loss and competitive challenges. In the event of no weight loss, or a less than 1% weight gain, contestants receive 0 points. Over 1% weight gain, contestants lose points proportional to their percentage of weight gain.
