GOLD'S CHALLENGE

Almost There!

aLarryCandace.jpgFor 12 weeks, 6 Express readers are competing for $5,000 and a one-year membership to Gold's Gym. Challengers are racking up points for losing unwanted weight and winning fitness challenges. To help them lose the weight and prepare for these challenges, each contestant is given one hour each week to work out with a Gold's Gym Personal Trainer.

This is the last week for our contestants to prepare before the final challenge. The contestant with the most points at the end of 12 weeks wins, but it seems everyone already feels like a winner!

Invest In Yourself
Larry (shown with his girlfriend) has been working out with Chris at the Midtown Gold’s Gym. According to her, working out and eating right has become his lifestyle. Larry has created a habit of health. He has all the tools he needs to continue his progress and see more of the results he is seeking. Larry has lost over 41 pounds since the beginning of this challenge and 7 in just the last week!
Larry says: "I want to encourage anyone dealing with their weight! It is possible to change as long as you invest in yourself and commit!"

aJamiePartner.jpgForward Momentum
Jamie (shown with her partner) has been working out at the Gold's Gym in Merrifield with Erin, who has advised her to keep moving forward and focus on one week at a time. Their strategy has been working. Jamie lost more than 18 pounds. She enjoys her time at the gym and is talking about getting certified to teach some classes.
Jamie says: "While losing weight, I gained self-confidence, a healthier positive outlook, and most importantly, a good friend in Erin."

Creating a Healthy Habit
Greg (shown with his family) is working out with Michael at Gold's Gym in Rockville Town Square. Greg was hoping to start a fitness habit, and now he feels that he has established one. He says, "I don't see why I would stop working out. I've wanted this for a long time, and I'm not about to let it go." Greg has lost 25 pounds and he too lost a whopping 7 pounds in just this last week!.
Greg says: "I am absolutely planning on continuing to go to Gold's. I've become a big fan of all the classes, and the cardio movie theatres."

In the event of no weight loss, or a less than 1% weight gain, contestants receive 0 points. Over 1% weight gain, contestants lose points proportional to their percentage of weight gain.
