Diabolically Delicious: Bacon Beer

brasserie beck beer
BREWMASTER GARRETT OLIVER and Brasserie Beck chef de cuisine David Ashwell team up to bring beer lovers a diabolically delicious food-and-drink event. A special beer-based dinner features not only a menu of Ashwell's rich, autumnal dishes, but also such magical-sounding suds as the bacon-infused Brooklyn Reinschweinsgebot and a cocktail-mimicking Manhattan Project brew.

Off Mad Ave.: Look Back in Vodka
AMC's "Mad Men" is inspiring more than mid-century chic dresses — it even coaxed nostalgia out of Kimpton's the Grille at Morrison House. Sommelier and style author Jason Tesauro works with Grille chef Dennis Marron heading a four-part food, wine and style series that covers cigars, whiskey, beer, meat carving, cocktails and wine pairings. OK, it's more booze than bread, but that's the way Don Draper would want it.
» 116 S. Alfred St., Alexandria; Wed.-Jan. 27, 7 p.m., $80 per class; reserve at 703-838-8000.
