» The Main Event: They'll wed Nov. 1 in a semiformal ceremony in Charleston, S.C. She'll walk down the aisle to Elvis Costello's "She."

» How They Met: Through Meetup.com, where members with common interests go to events and activities as a group. At the dinner event where they met, Adam says, the chemistry was immediate: "We maneuvered ourselves so we could sit next to each other at dinner and spent most of the evening talking to each other and ignoring the rest of the group!"

» First Impressions: "I thought he had the nicest, most genuine smile I'd ever seen."

» First Date: Drinks at Galaxy Hut in Clarendon. They spent so long talking that she missed the last train, and he had to drive her home to Gaithersburg.

» How He Proposed: After Valentine's Day dinner at the restaurant where they met, Amanda "was teasing him that he'd never marry me" and he got down on one knee on the sidewalk and asked. "Turned out he'd been planning it the whole night, and he just couldn't find the right moment!"

» Most Hated Clothing Item: She wishes he'd dump his NASCAR T-shirt ("It's really not him"), and he doesn't like her "college sweatshirt that she wore after she got her wisdom teeth out and got blood stains all over."

» Pet Names: His name for her is "Manda Panda."

» Making It Unique: "We are writing our own vows and have worked a few movie references into the ceremony," Amanda says. "Anyone who knows us knows we love movies, so they should keep their ears open!"
