Joe, 33, is a software developer. Salem, 31, is a fundraising professional. They live in D.C.
» The Main Event: Rabbi Tamara Miller, who they met in a boot camp fitness class at the Washington D.C. Jewish Community Center, will officiate their Oct. 25 morning wedding in D.C.
» How They Met: On JDate.com, after Joe changed his profile to mimic Borat, the Sacha Baron Cohen character. "I figured, 'Any woman who will go on a date with me would share a similar sense of humor. Or be Kazakh.'"
» First Date: They watched a college football game at a bar in Arlington. Two of Salem's friends joined them: "I had been on so many bad dates that I just couldn't risk another without chaperones/backup."
» How He Proposed: Neither of them formally proposed, but one day last December while putting groceries away, "we just decided to get married," says Salem. When they updated their Facebook statuses to "engaged," the congratulations poured in.
» Pet Names: He calls her "Sacie," her childhood mispronunciation of her own name. "Her mother warned me it was only to be used by those closest to Salem," Joe jokes.
