Poetic Pairing: Jay Farrar & Ben Gibbard

TUESDAY: Jay Farrar (Son Volt) and Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) are an odd pairing on the surface. But their combination of dark Americana and earnest indie rock makes for beautiful bed-mates on "One Fast Move or I'm Gone," based on the soundtrack work the duo did on the new Jack Kerouac documentary by the same name. (All the lyrics are taken from Kerouac's 1962 novel "Big Sur," too.)

If you can't make it to the show (which is only one of six the duo will perform), NPR will be streaming the concert here.

See the movie trailer and live clips from the twosome after the jump.
