LIL WAYNE PLEADS TO CHARGES
Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession on Thursday and expects to receive a one-year jail sentence. The performer previously had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession charges that carried at least 3 1/2 years in jail upon conviction. He remains free on bail while awaiting his February sentencing. The somber-looking rapper did not speak as he left the courthouse with members of his entourage, who piled into four SUVs.

TRAVOLTA EXTORTION CASE ENDS IN MISTRIAL
A judge in the Bahamas has ordered a mistrial in the case of an alleged extortion attempt against John Travolta. A judge said Wednesday she was reluctantly ordering a new trial because a politician announced that one of the defendants would be acquitted, even though the jurors had not yet reached their verdict.

'LET'MAKE AN IMPORTANT ISSUE ALL ABOUT ME'
Nicole Kidman testified before a U.S. congressional panel on violence against women Wednesday, conceding that Hollywood has contributed to the problem by portraying females as weak sex objects. Kidman said she is not interested in those kinds of roles, adding that the movie industry also has made an effort to contribute to solutions for ending the violence. When asked by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., whether Hollywood has "played a bad role," Kidman said "probably," then added, "I can't be responsible for all of Hollywood, but I can certainly be responsible for my own career."

The Kardashian family thinks the break-in and robbery of Kourtney Kardashian's home was an inside job. "They knew what was real jewelry and what was costume jewelry," sister Khloe Kardashian told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Thursday. About $100,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.
