Best Concert Series: Millennium Stage

FREE. That's the word Millennium Stage has used to win the hearts of theater, music and dance fans across the region. Well, that and a few other things. Garth Ross, the Kennedy Center's director of Performing Arts for Everyone, says the 12-year-old program is a unique viewing experience. "There's a lot of cross-pollination between audience members who come just because they enjoy performances and audience members who come to see a specific act, more so than in a club or other venue," he says. There's also that die-hard dedication: Millennium Stage has a performance every night, 365 days a year.
Brush With Fame: Millennium Stage had a cameo in the Russell Crowe movie "State of Play."
