RAPPER WALE IS ON the verge of big things — things such as his current tour with hip-hop icon Jay-Z — so enjoy his "local favorite" status while you can. But despite Wale's imminent national stardom, his songs express a deep, loyal love for the area. His hit "Chillin'," featuring Lady Gaga, is rife with D.C. references and imagery — including a Ben's Chili Bowl cameo in the video. Look for his album, "Attention: Deficit," on Nov. 10.
