The man charged with trying to extort $100,000 from former model Cindy Crawford has surrendered in Stuttgart, Germany. Edis Kayalar gave himself up at a police station Monday. He has been charged in Los Angeles with one count of extortion. If convicted, he could face up to two years in prison.

Elton John is back on his feet after having the flu and an E. coli infection. "The worst thing about being in the hospital was that, actually, it's the first time I've been in bed for about nine days in the whole of my life, except for maybe when I had my tonsils out," he said.

THE RIGHT TO PHOTOGRAPH NICOLE RICHIE NOT INALIENABLE
A judge has granted Nicole Richie's request for a three-year restraining order against two photographers after a hearing Monday. Richie appeared in court, accompanied by her partner, Joel Madden. The judge granted the orders against Eduardo Arrivabene and Ivon Emilio Melo Miguel, who agreed to stay 50 yards away from Richie. Miguel apologized on the stand and said he would not take pictures of her if she didn't want him to. Richie blames the men for causing a car crash in Beverly Hills last month and says she's frightened for her and her young children's safety.

HASSELBECK GHOSTWRITER SECRETLY FEELS VINDICATED
A federal judge in Massachusetts has dismissed a lawsuit accusing Elisabeth Hasselbeck of plagiarism. A federal lawsuit accused Hasselbeck of lifting content from a book written by self-published Cape Cod author Susan Hassett on the digestive disorder celiac disease. Hasselbeck's book was called "The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide" and appeared on best-seller lists this year.

KARDASHIANS POLLUTE YET ANOTHER FACET OF EXISTENCE
Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian will launch a jewelry line with Virgins Saints and Angels this spring, People.com reported. "The collection embraces our unique style. ... Romantic, edgy, and classic vintage. Our Armenian culture is very important to us, and we tried to incorporate that in the jewelry also," Kim Kardashian wrote on her Web site.
