Sibling Revivalry: Miley Cyrus' Bro & Other Celebrity Spawn

Miley & Trace Cyrus

COULD WE HAVE a famous sibling for our very own?

It's unfortunate, but true — in this pop-culture-obsessed day and age, having a celebrity share your name basically means your very own ticket to notoriety, infamy, free swag, paparazzi and all that other good stuff. We don't mean the kind of privilege that allowed Robert Kennedy to rise up the political ranks or helped Roger Clinton get a pardon from his brother Bill in 2001. Instead, we're talking about the strictly entertainment-related benefits that fall into the laps of Hollywood's most-loved siblings.

And when teen starlets like Miley Cyrus are being named the "worst celeb influence" (a title given to her by 9- to 15-year-olds who voted on AOL's pop culture blog Just So You Know) it makes sense that her older half-brother, Trace Cyrus, is riding on those coattails as hard as he can. With pop-punk band Metro Station, the heavily tattooed Trace has teamed up with another "Hannah Montana" sibling —; Mason Musso, older brother of Mitchell Musso, who plays Oliver on the Disney show — to bring his synth-heavy sounds to the prepubescent masses.

Although their self-titled debut came out two years ago, Metro Station is still touring to promote it, and will open for Miley on Nov. 3 at her sold-out show at the Verizon Center. And in honor of Trace's fame-whoring, who are some of our other favorites in the less-talented, spotlight-stealing celebrity brothers and sisters realm?

We've got 'em rounded up, just for your snarky reading pleasure.

KHLOE AND KOURTNEY
It must be hard to not only be less pretty then Kim Kardashian, but also less famous — especially when the only thing your sister has done to grab the limelight is make a sex tape with Ray J, who is himself the less-popular sibling of Brandy, the once-famous R&B singer and star of "Moesha."

But put that headache aside, and ponder this: Since the world learned of older sister Kourtney and younger sister Khloe through the E! TV series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," gossip blogs have endlessly mocked the sisters — and yet they recently received their own show, "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami." And then Kourtney got pregnant, commanding magazine covers with her ever-growing profile. After that, Khloe bagged a Laker by recently marrying Lamar Odom.

So while Kim is out making fitness videos and swimsuit calendars, Kourtney and Khloe are getting that money — and with an upcoming fashion line for bebe designed by the three sisters, it's almost a definite that we're going to still be hearing about the Kardashians for months (oh god, years?!) to come. Who knew one little sex tape had so much staying power?

ERIC ROBERTS
Julia Roberts has an instantly recognizable smile, an Academy Award and the highest box-office receipts of any actress in Hollywood. And her brother Eric has ... a cameo in the Killers' video for "Mr. Brightside?"

Although Eric is 11 years older than Julia and began acting nine years before she did, his resume pales in comparison to hers: She got the Oscar, he was only nominated. She guest-starred on "Friends," he was torn apart in an episode of "South Park." It must be tough living in the shadow of your little sister as America's sweetheart, but we simply can't respect a man who was in the movie "Phat Girlz."

SAMANTHA RONSON
What's worse, having to live up to the fame of both an older brother (producer Mark Ronson, who played a huge role in putting together Amy Winehouse's much-lauded sophomore album "Back to Black") and a twin sister (well-respected fashion designer Charlotte Ronson) or calling Lindsay Lohan your girlfriend? It's a tough choice, but we're somewhat amazed by how DJ Samantha Ronson has succeeded in getting her name recognized stateside.

Although she was on Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella record label, her singles never got much rotation in the United States, and while she often spins at celebrity events, she still hasn't garnered the same kind of following as people like the late DJ AM. But thanks to her relationship with Lohan, she's the constant target of gossip blogs (especially Perez Hilton, whom she sued for calling her a "lezbot"), is seriously hated by Michael Lohan and has more than a million followers on Twitter. Mark has only about 84,000 and Charlotte 19,000 — so the student has become the master.

STEPHANIE PRATT
Being the sister of reality TV's most-hated man has got to suck, but Stephanie Pratt, sister to Spencer and sister-in-law to Heidi, seems to be reaping big benefits from all that criticism. Since joining the cast of "The Hills," Stephanie has done everything she can to grab more screen-time, from befriending Spencer's enemy, Lauren Conrad, to picking a fight with Kristin Cavallari this season.

And outside of MTV, Stephanie basks in being a rumor mill: She started the gossip that Spencer and Heidi had been tortured on NBC's "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here," got lots of plastic surgery (her very obvious nose job and lip injections make her look way older than 23) and was recently arrested for a DUI. Can we expect to see the trial on "The Hills?" Now that's must-see TV.

REBBIE, JACKIE, TITO, JERMAINE, LATOYA, MARLON AND RANDY
Oh, you're a Jackson, but you're not Janet or Michael? Then you're on our list. We do believe that most of you are also talented, but you didn't make "Thriller." And that's just unfair for both you and us.
