So there is a perceived threat, and the government can't provide enough protection. Further, there is no timely Federally-sponsored mitigation for the remaining population. This is the same government that wants to provide health care. Wake up America!

Of course not. H1N1 is neither as transmissive or virulent as human influenza, and I have never been vaccinated for that.

Some questions: If the Govt had not ordered the vaccines, who else would have? The insurance companies? No. Doctors in private practice? No. Your boss? No. Private citizens have not lined up to place orders. Have you?

Rooster - Government is already providing health care - Medicare - and that program is doing well for our Seniors.

Maybe that is why so many health care workers are REFUSING to get the shot/spray due to lack of trust of the government. It is funny how they came out with it so fast. Jake, the problem is that the companies making the vaccine are a little overwhelmed right now.

I won't be getting the vaccine because 1) I'm mostly healthy and 2) they haven't figured out a way to culture it that doesn't involve chickens' eggs.

I know I'll take it eventually (because of my job) but I'm never in a hurry to put a medicine in my body that was developed in a rush.

Worried? No. But I'll be first in line just as soon as it's available. Honestly, only a fool would pass up the opportunity to inoculate him-/herself against a known contagion. And, yes, that includes the nitwits on this site. I only hope when this virus infects these buffoons, they have the decency to quarantine themselves in their homes.

I refuse to get the shot even if it is free. I just hope that if I do get the swine flu that I am next to Diogenes on the Metro so I can watch her freak out. Heck I may just start coughing and sneezing violently in the hopes to freak her out. I love toying with paranoid people. It is so much fun to watch them freak out.

Forget the swine flu vaccine. I can't even get the seasonal flu vaccine. My doctor hasn't received the first shipment of it yet.

No. I'm more worried that:
1. This is just a foretaste of the rationing that will occur under a government-run health care system, and
2. That the same government will someday require people to get shots they don't want. It's bad enough telling me what I can't ingest, but telling me what I must ingest is an order of magnitude worse.

My only worry is for those who have gotten caught up in the hysteria this one strain of flu has created (and sustained for months). I'm absurdly tired of the madness!

Which begs the question: IS IT NEEDED in the first place? Are we really so trusting of an incompetent government that tells us what we "need" to protect ourselves? As a good parent I would let my kids get that vaccination. Obama allowed it to skip all of the normal testing that medicine gets, so if people are getting sick or dying from the swine flu it';s because of the shots.

Besides, this pestilence is all Obama's falt. God has cursed us with this disease from farm animals because we let Obama into the White House.

It is not that people will get the Swine Flu from getting the shot, but likely have neurological disorders like they experienced last time they rushed a flu "vaccine" under Gerald Ford, a Republican, in 1976. The Obama Administration created this virus to kill black people. Hey, if Wright can claim that the government created AIDS to kill black people and Leftist Loons like Diogenes and Van Jones can claim that Bush was behind 9/11 and the murder of 3,000 Americans so that he could go to war, then why can one not claim that the current administration created the swine flu to kill minorities as well? The vaccine was "needed" because:
1) We The People demanded the vaccine;
2) Big Pharma can make money on the vaccine (yes, Big Pharma lobbyists have been hard at work);
3) The increased research funding does illuminate further our battle against all influenza virus'.

Many folk here are confusing States (such as NY and IL) mandating vaccinations with the Feds mandating vaccinations, when the Feds have stated no such thing. Flu vaccinations have never been mandated by the Feds. Why should they start now?

History is filled with us being told unsubstantiated claims by the Gov/Media/Corporations/Non-Profits/etc, yet we accept their claims blindly and suffer the consequences. It is a citizen's responsibility to accept/deny such claims. Conscientious objection is healthy for individuals and society (though it makes our Masters furious).

Methinks a lot of folk's paranoia is showing.
